Deity-personification of the dawn, sister of Helios (Sun) and Selene (Moon). She was married to Astraios and gave birth to the stars and the winds. According to the myth, Eos slept with Ares who was Aphrodite’s lover. In order to take revenge, the latter condemned Eos in an endless search for new lovers, as she would find no satisfaction.
